Ethan's baptism

There's something special.. no something more than special, it's a privilege, and a gift.. it's something bigger than we can understand when a child is given to us, and when we give this child back to God in promising that we will teach our child in the ways of God it's a promise I think few of us always fully grasp.. It's not a promise of good food and a good school it's to do with eternity.. It's to promise our Creator that this amazing life, this responsibility he has given us we do not take lightly and we will raise this children to know Him, trust Him, live for Him... And this is bigger than anything else we can even think of doing..

The baptism is the promise we make before others and praying for my kids started the moment I became aware of the little life inside me.. or actually praying for them started long before we even thought of having kids.. Each child is handcrafted by God who knew about them long before we even had an idea and I believe already has their soul the moment conception took place.. Do we even understand how special this is? How big a responsibility this is?

We made our promise on the 7th of October.. For me it was an extra special way to celebrate my birthday as well. And just a reminder of the huge gift this little life is in our lives.. What an amazing journey we are busy undergoing..

Proverbs 22:6 'Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.'

My prayer is that we will not only speak to our kids these teachings, but live it as their biggest example is not through what they hear but by what they see. It is such a huge responsibility but also such a wonderful privilege...

We celebrated this special day at our house and it was lovely having friends and family with us..

“Your children are the greatest gift God will give to you, and their souls the heaviest responsibility He will place in your hands. Take time with them, teach them to have faith in God. Be a person in whom they can have faith. When you are old, nothing else you've done will have mattered as much.”
